Susan P. Raschal, DO

Diplomate American Board of Allergy and Immunology

Dr. Raschal specializes in Asthma and Immunology with a focus on respiratory allergies, food allergies, insect stings, sinus disease and eczema. She is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.

 

Susan P. Raschal, D.O., received her Bachelors of Science degree from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Raschal attended New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Southern Maine and received her Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 1990. After completing an internship at Metropolitan Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, she trained in internal medicine at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where she also completed specialty training and research in asthma, allergy, and immunology. She has published in the area of immunology. She is a member of the teaching faculty at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine, Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Medicine-Georgia campus and Lincoln Memorial College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Raschal is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee in January, 1998 to begin her allergy practice. Her desire to be part of a Christian faith-based practice came to fruition in January 2009 when Covenant Allergy and Asthma Care opened. She is accepting new patients, especially children with asthma and allergies.

Dr. Raschal has been cancer free since 2001 and is active in the Chattanooga area Breast Cancer support community.
 

 

 

Gwen Carlton, DNP, FNP

Gwen is a native of Tennessee. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Belmont University in 1990, graduating cum laude, a master’s degree in Nursing and completion of the nurse practitioner program at Vanderbilt University in 1994, and has a doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2008.

Gwen is a Family Nurse Practitioner and sees patients of all ages. She joined our practice in 2009 and in addition to her work with our practice; she is clinical faculty for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She has over 28 years of experience in allergy and asthma practices. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, Chattanooga Area Nurses in Advanced Practice, and was the recipient of the 2006 Allied Health Recognition Award, presented by the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunotherapy. She is certified the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner and by the National Asthma Education Certification Board as an Asthma Educator.
